Greater Brandon Foundation Grant Requirements

Grant deadline for 2011 will be September 1st

The Greater Brandon Community Foundation supports nonprofit, charitable organizations that enhance the quality of life in the Greater Brandon, Florida Community. Its service area is generally limited to organizations whose work primarily serves the residents of the Greater Brandon area.

Applicants for funding must be tax exempt under the provisions of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code or publicly owned tax-exempt organizations. Tax-exempt status must exist at time of grant application.

The Foundation, as a general rule, does not allocate funds to organizations more
than once in a calendar year unless there are unusual circumstances.

The Foundation will consider funding for:

  • Health-supporting basic medical health needs.
  • Human Services-aiding families, youth, seniors, the disabled and the disadvantaged
  • Social-where there is a social need and where the results will benefit our community and society at large.


The Foundation will generally not fund the following:

  • Organizations outside the Greater Brandon Community
  • Individuals, unless a scholarship or board approved hardship
  • Political organizations or political campaigns
  • Scientific research
  • Capital campaigns
  • Tickets for any fundraising event or advertising space in programs or publications
  • Start up organization funding
  • Sponsorships for fundraising events


PROCESS

  • The application will be online at our website www.brandonfoundation.com.
  • Grants will be awarded annually, once approved by the Board of Directors and Trustees.
  • Grant Application deadline is September 1st.
  • Application review by Board of Directors and Trustees with possible site visit.
  • Final determination by Board of Directors and Trustees by November 1st.
